Banda Aceh – The Aceh Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) provided input and information on the general conditions of the business sector in Aceh to a team from the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) as part of efforts to update the Inter-Regional Input-Output (IRIO) data.

The activity took place at the Aceh Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) Office on Wednesday (September 16, 2026).

The update is aimed at improving the accuracy of the regional development planning database. Previously, the IRIO data being used still referred to data from 2016.

IRIO is a statistical matrix that describes economic transaction linkages, trade flows, and the relationships between supply and demand across regions or provinces and sectors in Indonesia.

During the activity, the Aceh Provincial Kadin, represented by its Executive Director Teuku Jaelani, shared various insights into the actual conditions of the business sector in Aceh.

“This includes developments in business sectors, production and industry, sources of raw materials, processing activities, and production output, including the destinations and absorption of production as well as the markets targeted by the products,” Teuku Jaelani said.

Information provided by business players is expected to offer a more up-to-date picture of conditions on the ground and support the updating of the IRIO database for regional development planning purposes.
